Why .bank? Security is Our Priority

May 28, 2019

Since 2015 thousands of banks have registered .bank domains and are using them. These TLD’s (Top Level Domains) were created specifically for the banking industry, and only banks and bank tech vendors have the ability to use them for their websites and emails. Marion State Bank started on this journey in early 2018 and is proud to present the newly redesigned and more secure MarionState.Bank website.

In the banking industry, security is the number one priority, and this is the driving force behind moving our website to the dot-bank domain. Over the past few months, we went through the process of verifying our financial institution status to secure our dot-bank domain. This verification process is part of the increased level of security that revolves around the dot-bank domain.

Using the dot-bank domain substantially lowers the ability for users to be redirected to a fictitious bank website. This along with the strong encryption requirements will help to boost confidence and trust by you, our customers, while using our website for all your banking needs.

We know that every day, the threat of a cybersecurity attack increases. It is our priority to stay ahead of this threat by working to provide a safe and secure banking experience.
